I am a certified personal trainer through ACTION. I have a bachelor's degree in history from Eastern Oregon University with minors in Spanish and physical education. I also received my master's degree in teaching at EOU. I am also a level 1 PLU (Powerlifting United) referee.
I have been strength training since I was 14 years old and started powerlifting in 2019 when I was 20. I have been a competitive powerlifter since then, competing in six meets with a best total of 540 kg or 1190 lbs. I am a teacher in Oregon and have been coaching Jr High (grades 7-8) powerlifting and hosting youth powerlifting meets with my wife, Bonny, since 2021. In 2022, I began coaching powerlifting with adults with programming and gameday coaching.
Since starting coaching powerlifting, through programming and gameday coaching, I have helped many athletes set new PRs including new USPA Oregon state records and IPL world records.
I am one of the gameday powerlifting coaches with Veloz Espinola Strength. In 2024, I became a referee with Powerlifting United (PLU) as well.
I began strength training when I was in high school and competed in my first powerlifting meet in 2022. Since then I've competed in three meets and achieved a best total of 265 kg or 584 lbs. I've been meet day coaching in powerlifting since 2019 and have coached a number of athletes at powerlifting meets helping them maximize their performance at their meets.
I also work with Nico to coach the Brixner Jr High Powerlifting Club which hosts meets to students in the Klamath Basin throughout the school year.
